Positive cases surges by 161 to inch closer to 10K mark, recovery rate stands at 77%

IMPHAL: The state recorded 161 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours while 262 persons were discharged from different COVID care hospitals, thus improving the recovery rate again bringing it to 77.26 percent on Thursday.

According to a daily bulletin updated by Dr Shasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director Health Department and Spokesperson Covid Common Control Room, the 161 fresh positive cases including  131 civilians and 30 personnel belonging to CAPF were detected at RIMS-53, JNIMS-26, Ukhrul RAT-8, Kangpokpi-2, Mother’s care-3, Advance Hospital-2, Imphal Hospital-2, Imphal Hospital-1, Babina Diagnostic-9, Raj Medicity-9, Imphal East RAT- 13, Thoubal RAT-8, Kamjong RAT-1, Churachandpur RAT -20, Bishnupur -7, Kakching-1 and Senapati RAT-1.

The fresh cases belong to Imphal West -33, Imphal east-34, Thoubal-16, Kamjong-1, Kakching-9, Senapati-1, Ukhrul-8, Bishnupur-7, Chandel-1, Churachandpur-21.

With this, the state’s total confirmed positive cases have climbed to 9537.

Of the 131 civilians who tested positive, 124 are locally transmitted with no travel history. All the infected patients will be shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the statement of CCR.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, altogether 261 persons were discharged , thus recovery rate pegging at 77.26 percent on Thursday.

They were discharged from CAPF -16, RIMS-2, CCC Kasom Khullen-1, RD Wing-6, CCC Lamding-10, CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong -206, TK Ukhrul-2 and CCC Thoubal-8  after they were found Covid free on RT PCR test.

Altogether, 7369 patients have recovered and the active Covid-19 cases stands at 2106, out of which 1759 are civilians and 347 security personnel.
