Imphal: A combined team of Khongjom Police Station and Thoubal Commando has seized utensils and materials which are used in production of DIC liquor from Tentha Tuwaband area on Monday.
According to Police sources, acting on a specific information that some local individuals of Tentha Tuwaband are engaged in the preparation of DIC liquors for extensive supply in connection with the forthcoming By-Election, the combined team consisting of OC/Khongjom Police Station and Thoubal Commando under the supervision of SP/Thoubal Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh rushed to the spot to take up preventive measures in connection with the upcoming of Bye-Election in 34-Wangjing-Tentha AC.
The combined team raided one house of Nameirakpam Inao Singh (43), son of N. Hemchandra Singh and Nameirakpam Susilla Devi (41), wife of N. Inao Singh both residents of Tentha Tuwaband.
During the raid, the combined team seized utensils and materials which are used in production of DIC liquor.
The sized items include 2 steel konpaks, 1 blue brite of 50 litres with capacity containing 30 kgs of fermented rice, 3 empty korphu, 1 plastic bucket, 2 bottles of DIC liquor about 1 and half litres.
The persons whose house were raided and the seized materials were brought to Khongjom Police Station. They were later handed over to the Excise Department for further necessary proceedings.
