IMPHAL: DGP LM Khaute said that Police department is investigating the murder case of an ATM staff who was killed during a daylight robbery at Churachandpur on September 4, last from all angles and assured that all possible steps have been initiated to find out the clues of the case at the earliest.
The DGP visited Churachandpur on Sunday to take stock of the current situation which resulted as the fallout of the murder of the ATM staff in Churachandpur town by some unknown gunmen in the heist and made off with Rs 1.15 crore. During his visit, the DGP visited gave the instructions from the Chief Minister passed on to him, sources said.
Khaute also met the 11 member team of the JAC in the office chamber of the SP, Churachandpur.
Khaute told reporters in Chuarachandpur that the JAC formed in connection with the case expressed their desire that the culprits are booked at the earliest as possible. From the police department side, he assured that all possible steps will be taken up to ensure that the case is solved without delay. The committee has in return assured cooperation from their sides in the effort. The investigation is in the right direction and on war footing, according to the police chief.
We are examining the case from all angles and we have a very broad base approach. The SoO groups have also met the state authorities through Joint Monitoring Group mechanism. The matter has been escalated and taken up with SoO groups which have also assured cooperation in the case. Whether the unidentified gunmen used gun with silencer device while abetting the crime is yet to be ascertained as Police is yet to seize the weapon as of now, he added.
