Police continue Jan Andolan – Public Campaign for Covid-19 Appropriate Behavior

Imphal: On the eleventh day of raising awareness under the campaign of “Jan Andolan – Public Campaign for Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour” by State Police, Imphal East District Police continue to organised an awareness rally at Heingang Area starting from Koirengei Bazar, Keikol road, Koirengei CMC, National highway, Liberal crossing, Khabam Lamkhai, Chumbreithong, Mantripukhri Bazar, and CrPF Gate.

The rally was participated by SDC/Heingang from side of the civil administration along with SDPO/Porompat, DSP/CDO, OC/Heingang, Keikol OP, Reserve Line/IE, Traffic/IE amidst light drizzling rain.

During the awareness rally, many persons found without masks were cautioned to wear the same, as well as to maintain social distancing and to adhere to SOP guidelines failing which penalties under Manipur Epidemic Diseases Regulations 2020 will be enforced.

It is for the general public that the Imphal East Police is putting in a lot of efforts, Imphal East Police said.

Meanwhile, District Administration Imphal East District and District Police Imphal East District also conducted an awareness drive cum rally in connection with the Jan Andolan- Public Campaign for Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour at Lamlai and Nongada area.

With the number of Covid-19 positive persons rising in Imphal East District, the awareness drive cum rally was mainly confined to targeting the people of the very district.

District Administration Imphal East District and District Police Imphal East District also appealed to the people of Lamlai and Nongada area to extend support to the initiative and precautionary measures being undertaken by Police department and District administration and SOP guidelines of State Government.

Placards with messages like “wear face masks, maintain social distancing and poster showing hand wash” were held by the participants and PA system were used to create awareness to the public during the awareness drive cum rally on Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour.
