Imphal: An awareness drive cum public campaign in connection with Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour “Jan Andolan” was carried out in different areas of Pungdongbam and Lamlai on Thursday.
The awareness drive cum public campaign was carried out under DC Imphal East, Imphal East Police Department and Chief Medical Officer Imphal East District under the theme “Covid 19 Appropriate Behaviour of Covid 19”, states a press release issued by 2nd OC/lamlai Police Station SI Konsam Umananda.
The campaign which was led by 2nd OC/Lamlai Police Station SI Konsam Umananda along with Havildar Kanba Thoi and staff of Imphal East administrative was supervised by SDPO LOamlai Ksh. Ravi Kumar.
The awareness was part of the joint precautionary measures of the Police Department, District Administration and CMO to fight and contain from the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases, the release states.
The release further stated that if the public fails to give support and obey the guidelines issued by State Government then the initiative taken up by Police Department and Government Department to fight and contain from Covid-19 will never succeed.
Lamlai Police Department awared the people of the surrounding areas and villages of Pungdongbam and Lamlai area using loud speakers to give support and cooperation and jointly fight to contain from Covid-19 pandemic, the release states.
The release also stated that the mandatory guidelines issued by State Government like no to mass gathering, wear face masks, use of hand sanitizer, regular hand wash, social distancing, obey SOP while attending ritual related ceremonies, etc. should be followed by each of us without fail.
Lamlai Police Department also appealed to those people who are under containment zones to stay inside their respected homes.
People should not take in another sense if legal actions are taken up against those who disobey the guidelines of the state government, the release states.
