Passenger services to Ukhrul to resume today

IMPHAL: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has announced the relaxation of the existing restrictions on passenger bus and Wingers’ services and allowed the resumption of regular services for Imphal to Ukhrul from October 16, 2020.

As per the order of TNL issued by its general secretary Vareingam Gachui the restriction was relaxed in view of the progressive unlocking of Covid-19 SOP by the Central Government, State Government and District Administration. The

Tangkhul Co-ordination Forum on Covid-19 (TCFC) has accordingly relaxed the existing restrictions on passenger bus and Wingers’ services.

Moreover, as per its executive meeting resolution No. 1 TNL fixed the fares of buses as Rs 260 and for wingers as Rs 330.

On the other hand, the Tangkhul Coordination Forum on Covid-19 (TCFC) and District Administration on Thursday jointly had a meeting and resolved to commence passenger’s vehicles services (Taxi) from October 16, 2020 Friday with seven terms and conditions and SOP.

A notification issued by the Ukhrul District Passenger Services Association (UDPSA) signed by its Information Secretary Ngayinmi Jelly, stated that the terms and condition and SOP resolved during a meeting are namely, the services timing will be from 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM; driver and passengers should wear face mask compulsorily; hand sanitizers should be made available in every taxi; small vehicles like Alto, Maruti-800 cars etc should travel with only 3 persons and big taxi like Bolero, Tata Sumo etc with 4 persons; all the vehicles should be sanitized before and after taxi services; all passengers should sanitize before going inside the vehicles and every passengers’ vehicles should stick association’s yellow stickers which will be made available at the office of UDPSA.

If any passengers’ vehicles are unable to follow the terms and conditions and SOP given by the government then strict action will be taken up against the respective passengers’ vehicle as per law.
