IMPHAL: With a 51 year old man from Imphal East district succumbing to COVID-19 at JNIMS, the state’s death toll related to the virus has climbed to 65.
In the meantime, the trend of triple digit surge in the COVID-19 positive cases continued in the state with as many as 269 fresh positive cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours, taking the total count of COVID-19 positive cases to 10,746.
According to a daily bulletin updated by Dr Shasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director Health Department and Spokesperson Covid Common Control Room, the 269 fresh positive cases including 231 civilians and 38 personnel belonging to CAPF were detected at RIMS-33, JNIMS-42, Kamjong-6, Noney-15, Kakching-2, Swiss Hospital-1, Jiribam-4, Imphal west-20. Raj Medicity-10, Shija Hospital-7, Imphal East-5, Bishnupur-1, Mother care-2, Senapati-1, Churachandpur-3, RD Wing-2, Tamenglong-30, Kangpokpi-5, Tengnoupal-10, Thoubal-43, Ukhrul-1, Chandel-5, Babina Diagnostic-17, Samaritan Hospital-1, Hillside Hospital-1, CMC Hospital-1 and Imphal Hospital-1.
The 231 civilians who tested positive belong to Imphal West -53, Imphal east-44, Tengnoupal-9, Ukhrul-1, Tamenglong-40, Kangpokpi-2, Kamjong-7, Noney-15, Kakching-2, jiribam-4, Bishnupur-2, Senapati-1, Churachandpur-2, Thoubal-49.
Of the 231 civilians who tested positive, 227 are locally transmitted with no travel history. All the infected patients will be shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the statement of CCR.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, altogether 57 persons were discharged, thus pegging the recovery rate at 76.80 percent on Tuesday.
They were discharged from RIMS-4, CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong -36, PR Kakching-6, TK Ukhrul-3 and JNIMS-8 after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
Altogether, 8039 patients have recovered and the active Covid-19 cases stands at 2642, out of which 2122 are civilians and 520 security personnel.
