IMPHAL: The National Students’ Union of India, Manipur (NSUI) and Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) had staged a sit-in protest demanding the postponement of the NEET- JEE exams which is likely to be conduct in the early part of September, protested at B.T Road, on Friday.
In a press note NSUI Manipur and MPYCC had stated that the protest were to forward demands for the larger interest of the society and for the student’s safety and welfare. The units reiterated their demands for postponements of the examinations. The BJP government is imposing extra burdens and mental stress on the students amid the pandemic of Covid-19 which will not only put the student’s life at risk but also it will bring several negative outcomes in the near future, the statement said.
Further the organizations remind the BJP government that forcibly planning to conduct exams during this pandemic might be counterproductive and warned that the government itself must be held responsible if any students get infected with Covid-19 during the exam.
