Bishnupur: A public meeting in opposition of installation of 4 remote sensor gates at Ithai Barrage public road by authority of NHPC was held on Monday at Ithai Barrage community hall organised by Apunba Club and Ithai Barrage Area Meira paibi.
The meeting witness the presence of Chairman COHR Phulindro Konsam, President UCM Sunil Karam, President HERICOUN L. Ratan, President CCSK Jitendra Ningomba, President LIPUL Somorendro Thokchom, Executive Director HRA Bablu Loitongbam, Secretary BJP Bishnupur District Committee Sanasam Premchandra Meitei, President EKAL Oinam Bimola Devi and representatives of Sugunu A/C and Kumbi A/C as main dignitaries.
Spokespersons of the meeting spoke about the inconveniences, various problems and hardships being faced by the people residing in the surrounding areas of the dam and the effect at the surrounding areas of Loktak Lake and people residing in it since the construction of the Ithai Dam.
The spokespersons also spoke about the vanished cultivating paddy field due to deluge of the dam water and the intention to install Remote Sensor gates above the Dam Security problems faced by the people while travelling through the Ithai Dam public road.
The meeting also resolved to oppose installation of 4 Remote Sensor Gates at Ithai Barrage public road.
