Imphal: NISA Thangmeiband defeated SU Sagolband by 3-1 goals on Wednesday to remain at the top of the 13th Manipur State League table while AIM Khabam Lamkhai thrashed AFC Thoubal Athokpam 7-2 in second match of the day.
Held at Khuman Lampak Artificial Turf, the tournament is organized by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the sponsorship of Kh. Joykisan Singh.
In the first match of the day, NISA thrashed SU by 3-1 goals and top the league with 16th points from 6 matches. And though NISA won, it was SU Sagolband that drew first blood in the 26th minute of the match through H. Premandas. But in the second half, it was NISA all the way with the three goals coming through Okorogor Nabuike, Lamjingba Mutum and N. Momocha in the 54th, 90th and 90+3 minute respectively.

As for AIM Khabam Lamkhai, their second win in the league will be memory as they thrashed AFC Thoubal Athokpam 7-2 with Seiminthang Haokip as the star of the match scoring a hattric in the 40th, 49th and 69th minutes. However, it was S. Johny Kom who scored the opening goal for AIM in the 30th minute followed by Bikash Yumnam in the 36th minute of the first half.
David KC Ngaite and N. Shantanu also scored one goal each in the 75th and 77th minute respectively. O. Rohit and Y. Sobha secured one goal each for AFC in the 54th and 80th minute respectively. Ch. Kenson and Sehlenmang Dimnegel of AIM booked cautioned in the match.
