IMPHAL: The formal oath taking cum charge handing ceremony of the 6th Executive Council of Pangal Student’s Organization (PSO) Manipur for the term 2020-21 was held at Manipur Press Club on Tuesday.
While delivering a keynote address, PSO General Secretary YM. Sharukh khan said that PSO has been contributing its part towards bringing unity, peace and development in the state beyond communal lines. The orgnisation has been taking part in various issues of the state from time to time.
Having strongly felt that the various unwanted incidents and crimes the state is witnessing today is a fall out of losing moral values in society, PSO in association with likeminded organisations launched moral academic campaign in different parts of the state. As a part of the continuing academic Calendar programme ‘Aphaba Maheiroi Puthokshi, Aphaba Khunnai Oihansi’,PSO visited many schools in the state to take stock of its situation and the grievances the schools are experiencing. Free distribution of pen, pencil, note book to around 300 poor students from class 1 to VIIIof Poubithek Govt High School by the PSO Poubithek under the aegis of PSO HQ, organizing 1st state level science competition are among the activities carried out by PSO under its moral academic campaign. PSO in collaboration with Kakching District Committee also organised first talents show cum prize distribution programs and state level science competition, he added.
He said that Iftar parties were organised widely in an effort to bring unity, love among the communities in the state.
He vowed that the students’ body will keep working for progress, peace and unity in the state. The General Secretary of Rabita Madaris Manipur (oath commissioner) Mufti Salatur Rahaman administered oath of office of newly elected president Md. Zeeshan, general secretary Md. Warish Khan and other 22 newly elected office bearers of the organisation.
Leaders of different civil society’s organization, former Executive members of PSO and students also attended the oath taking cum charge handing ceremony.
