Imphal: The newly elected MLA of 60-Singhat Assembly constituency Ginsuanhau was sworn-in as a BJP MLA on Wednesday.
After registering an unopposed win in the by-poll, the BJP candidate of 60-Singhat A/c Ginsuanhau was sworn-in took his oath at the office Chamber of Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly located at Chingmeirong in Imphal West this afternoon. The oath taking ceremony was attended by Forest and Environment Minister Awangbou Newmai, Social Welfare Minister Okram Henry, and NPF MLA Khashim Vashum among others.
Ginsuanhau won after his rival independent candidate Chinlunthang withdrew his candidature.
Speaking to media persons after the oath taking ceremony, MLA Ginsuanhau assigned the credit for his success to Almighty God, the party and Chief Minister for their effort. He said that as the constituency has been lying underprivileged he will give his best effort and will swing into action in order to initiate all the necessary development for the constituency.
