IMPHAL: Netra Kumbh, 2019-20 Manipur, the free eye check-up and free spectacle health programme which was jointly organised by Seva Bharati, Nagamapal, National Medicos Organization (NMO) and Shaksham Manipur Prant Disable Organization with the aim to strengthen health concluded at a function held at Bal Vidya Mandir School, Palace Compound on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons at the side of the camp, Convenor of Netra Kumbh Dr. A. K Joy said that the free check-up and free spectacle distribution health programme was started from December 8 last. During the last day of health programme around 372 people were given treatment and free medicines were distributed. All together around 1553 people were given free treatment during the entire camp.
He further said that out of the total numbers about 97 people were detected with Cataract and they will be provided with free operation at JNIMS and RIMS hospitals, adding he said that free spectacles will be distributed to 1505 people. He gave his words of gratefulness to those people who had attended the camp.
In conclusion, he said that the information for distribution of spectacles to those selected will be let known through mass media and also through their individual personnel contact numbers.
