NCC conducts annual prize distribution ceremony

IMPHAL: The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for cadets who have received CWS Best Cadet Award and NCC CWS Scholarship, was organised in NCC Gp HQ, Imphal on Friday.

There were total of 19 cadets who received various awards. Brig RS Sethi, Gp Cdr, NCC Gp HQ, Imphal presented the cheques to the winners, PIB (Defence Wing) informed in a press release.

NCC CWS Best Cadet Award is given to cadets who excel in various NCC activities. Eligible cadets apply through their respective NCC Units. They are screened at various levels and thereafter DG NCC declare the cadets who make it in the merit list. NCC CWS Scholarship is purely based on academic performance and screening takes place similar to CWS Best Cadet Award.

CWS Best Cadet were awarded a cash incentive of Rs 4500/- each and the second Best cadets were awarded Rs 3500/-each.  CWS Scholarship of Rs 6000/-each was awarded to 11 Cadets for meritorious students.

SUO S Karanjit Singh (Modern College), CUO C Sunny Singh (DM College of Science), SUO Ashsune Enah (DM College of Science), Cdt N Promila Devi (CI College), Sgt L Albert Mangang  (Ruda Academy), Sgt Ksh Denish Singh (Meitei Mayek High School),  Cdt Priyanka Mutum (D Regina H/S) and Cpl  H Premeshori Devi (Meitei Mayek High School) were awarded the cash incentives  for CWS Best Cadet Award. 

Cdt  Shougaijam Barun Singh (JNV Chandel), Cdt Jinta Laishram (JNV Khumbong). Cdt  Phuritsabam Suni Devi (JNV Khumbong) Cdt  Jhonbadha Thiyam  (JNV Khumbong), Cdt Lidiya Elangbam, (JNV Khumbong), Cdt  Roshni Angom  (JNV Khumbong), Cdt Rajkumari Arisi Devi, (JNV Khumbong), Cdt Moirangthem Kamaljit Singh (JNV Bishnupur), Cdt  Yengkhom Natasha Devi, (JNV Bishnupur), Cdt Pritam Naorem (JNV Khumbong) and Cdt  Nongthongbam Ingba Mangang  (Leishemba Maheikol School) were awarded  the CWS Scholarship.

Mrs Nurina Pathan, GCI was also conferred the DG NCC Commendation Card for her meritorious service in NCC.

Brig RS Sethi applauded the efforts of the cadets and motivated them to reach greater heights in their lives. He also said that NCC teaches us to successfully face challenges in life and eventually become winners in every field by self discipline. The ceremony was concluded following all COVID -19 protocol.
