National Conference On Ethical Values To Be Held At Ire Wangjing

Imphal: With a view to improve the teacher competences and practices for ethical education,  The Institute of Rural Education, College of Teacher Education, Wangjing, Thoubal District is going to organize a Two Day National Conference on the theme “Convergence of Ethical Values of Education into practice: An outlook  to professional Ethics” at the auditorium hall of IRE complex Wangjing.

Principal IRE College of Teachets Education, Wangjing Rajivkumar Narengbam stated while addressing media persons at his office on Tuesday.

Principal Rajivkumar further said that the two days conference would  be held on March 4 and March 5, 2020.

“The conference is mainly targetted for BeD students who are studying across the state and it is going to be a platform for interaction of myriad ideas amongst the academicians, aspiring researchers and learners and other participants from various institutions of different corners of our country”, Rajivkumar breifed.

Rajivkumar also said that he strongly believed that the conference would have a galaxy of luminaries’ experts, activists, parents and resource persons and would also be enriched by the presence of participants from different sections of life.

Professor Naorem Rajmohon,executive member, NCTC- ERC, department of Chemistry, MU and Professor Th.Ratankumar, Director, College Development Council, MU are amongst the main talkers during the conference, he added.

Rajivkumar, who is also the programme advisor of the conference further said that  the objectives of the conference are, “There are some objectives of the conference. Raising awareness of Ethical issues, to provide a deep understanding of ethics and education, to develop professionalism and ethical analysis skills, to provide better  opportunities for bridging the gap between the ethics and action, to foster a culture of mutual respect, understanding, belongingness and ethical value in teaching profession, and to encourage deep understanding of ethical matters and greater clarity in ethical questions are amongst the objectives “.

Rajivkumar also further said that the conference had sub- themes also.” Ethics and Education, Ethics and Morality, Professionalism and Ethics, Relationship between socio- economic condition of teachers and professional ethics, ethical education and practise, promoting ethics in education, Role of Stakeholders in the development of professional ethics, bridging the gap between ethical education and practise ” are the sub themes shortlisted.

“Papers are invited on the above identified sub- themes from academicians, Research Scholars, social scientists, government representatives, members from civil societies, individuals interested in ethical education and professional ethics and its related researches within the stipulated time as mentioned”, Rajivkumar appealed.
