IMPHAL: The Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) Special Crime Branch, Kolkata submitted their third investigation report before the court about the statements of Pheiroijam Landhoni Founder cum Principal, her daughter Co-ordinator Pheiroijam Romita and her son Junior Administrator Pheiroijam Robinson of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur. The statements were recorded by CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata in connection with their ongoing investigation of N. Babysana mysterious death case inside the hostel of the school on July 18 last.
Accordingly, the third monthly reports submitted by CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata was submitted before the court and mentioned that in compliance of the direction passed in the Judgment of High Court of Manipur on November 6 last a regular case was registered by CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata and the progress report dated February 3 has duly been submitted before the court mentioning the progress during the period between January 2 to February 2, 2020 which was accepted by the same court on February 4, 2020.
The report further mentioned that during the period under scrutiny on February 15 afternoon a joint team of CBI and experts from Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi under the leadership of M. B. Bardhan who is the director of CFSL, New Delhi visited the scene of crime in presence of victim father and representative of Standard Robarth HS School and Manipur Police.
A memorandum was also drawn for recording the unlocking of the premises of the Place of Occurrence (PO) that was kept locked by state police after their last visit on July 30, 2019 in the presence of victim father/relatives, school authority, Manipur police and expert team of CFSL, New Delhi visited the scene of crime and collected available physical evidences and their report of their visit from concern is yet to be received.
In further course of investigation five police personnel of Singjamei police station, then SDPO Imphal S. Nandababu Sharma and an escort of Additional SP Operation and all the then police personnel of Singjamei Police Station associated with the investigation of the instant case were examined and their statement were u/s 161 CrPC were recorded.
It is further submitted that under the period during scrutiny two prosecution witnesses were also examined and their statements were also recorded.
The three accused who are presently on bail in connection with the case Landhoni, Romita and Robinson were also interviewed and their statements were also recorded.
Mention may be made that the investigation of the Babysana death case was taken up by CBI Special Crime Branch, Imphal as per the direction given by the High Court of Manipur in connection with the death of the student inside the hostel of Standard Robarth HS School, Canchipur.
