IMPHAL: The Manipur University Teachers’ Association (MUTA) has deeply condoled the sudden demise of retired Assistant Professor department of history, Manipur University K.K Das at a hospital of Mohali, Chandigarh leaving behind his wife, one son and one daughter on June 9 early morning.
In a press release of MUTA signed by the president M.Ranjit Singh it said that a condolence meeting on the demise of Das was held in the office of the Association on Wednesday which was
Chaired by the MUTA president.
The professor K.K.Das had also spent the best year of his life in Manipur University including the then J.N.U Centre Manipur and served the cause of higher education in the region, M.Ranjit added.
While the meeting remembered Das’s long association with higher education in the state as a dedicated teacher of Manipur University for more than 39 years the services he had rendered in teaching ancient History was recalled further, the MUTA president added.
The meeting observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul and prayed the Almighty to give peace to his soul in his heavenly abode. The meeting also shared the family’s sufferings and sent heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
