MSCW members meet Social Welfare Minister

Imphal: The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) met Minister Social Welfare and Corporation, MAHUD Okram Henry Singh at the office chamber of the minister on Monday to discuss current issues being encountered by the women in the state.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr Binota Meinam and three members of MSCW namely Lourembam Dayabati, Chuongsin Koireng and Th. Tiningpham Monsang, Commissioner of Social Welfare H. Gyan Prakash and Director of Social Welfare Ng. Uttam Singh.

The commission submitted its long due grievances and had a fruitful discussion about the increasing scenario of crime against the women in the State during the pandemic with the minister.

Henry reportedly gave his assurance to the commission that he will try his level best to fulfill their demands by the commission for arrangement of its Grant-in-aid, office premises, vehicles, and remuneration of the members.

The members of the commission expressed their gratitude to the minister for taking out his valuable time for the discussion and assurance that he will try within his capacity to fulfill their requests.
