Bishnupur: MP Dr. RK Ranjan Singh has distributed medical supplies to around 800 people of 287 families of Champu Khangpok Village in Loktak Lake under Moirang Sub-division in Thanga A/C on Thursday.
The items distributed by Dr RK Ranjan included face masks, hand sanitisers and hand gloves in the first phase of the initiative to reach out to ease inconveniences being faced by the public due to the lockdown imposed to prevent spread of pandemic Covid-19 in the state.
Vice President of All Loktak Lake Area Fisherman Union Manipur (ALLAFUM) Ningthoujam Thasana Devi, and its secretary Oinam Rajen Singh participated at the distribution of the essential commodities.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Dr. Rk. Ranjan Singh said that the essential commodities were mainly distributed so that the people of Champu Khangpok, who are surviving by catching fish and daily earning, can protect and prevent themselves from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The MP appealed to the people of Champu Khangpok to stay inside their respected homes no matter how many inconveniences they had to face and in the extreme situation they have to go out maintain social distancing.
Vice president and the secretary of the union expressed gratitude to the initiatives taken up by the MP for the people of Champu Khangpok.
