Imphal: Health and Family Welfare Minister L. Jayantakumar Singh has said that mother is the nucleus of a society. There is a chain system in the society. Many small units altogether forms the society, minister added.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the occasion of Poshan Maah Celebration organised by the 10 Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Kwakkeithel Konjeng leikai, Imphal West, Jayantakumar said that we all are the sons and daughters of a mother. The best nutrition to a mother will reciprocate a healthy baby which is necessary for a healthy society.
To take care of mother and child health and their nutritional care, the department of Social Welfare is also playing a big role. The Poshan Maah is being celebrated with the objective to maintain the best health of a mother. To make this objective fulfilled, the department of Social Welfare has implemented various schemes. He suggests for utilisation of funds allocated to concerned department judiciously. The mutual relationship between health, education and social welfare departments also need to be maintained, he added.
Minister Jayantakumar maintained that by organising mere functions will not make to fulfil the objective of Poshan Maah. In order to make the objective fulfilled, we all need to cooperate with one another and have mutual understanding between concerned authorities. The state government has been working sincerely and also trying to find out whether there is any loophole while implementing welfare schemes of the government, he added.
Appreciating the initiative of the AYUSH department in this regard, minister said that it is good for all to propagate awareness amongst the general public. He urged the different sections of the society to participate and play their role and cooperate with the Government on such public welfare initiatives. Minister also appealed all the concerned officials to be sincere in their service.
Chief Executive Officer, SMPB, Manipur Dr. A. Guneshwor Sharma attended the occasion as Guest of Honour. Officials and staffs from Department of AYUSH and MSPB also attended the occasion.
