Moreh police team seized drugs worth over Rs. 2 crore

MOREH: A team of Moreh police team while conducting frisking and checking at its check post at Kondong Lairembi located at Chikim village has successfully apprehended a numbers of WY tablets and heroine powder from a Maruti Alto Car bearing registration number WBO6B 8734 that was approaching from Moreh.

During the checking, Moreh police personnel successfully arrested the driver of the car Barul Alam, 25, son of Liaquat of Lilong. In connection with the matter, the Moreh police station has registered a case.

Later, after interrogation of Barul Alam by a police team led by Moreh additional SP M. Amit, police were able to arrest two individuals who had smuggled WY tablets from Myanmar. They were identified as Sangkim Hmar, 35, daughter of Lansanhim Hmar, and V. Rajashekar, 37, son of Veelashamy, both from ward no. 3 Paichim Veng, Moreh.

 In connection with the case, SP Tengnoupal District Police Station Th. Vikramjit Singh said that while conducting a routine checking of the Tengnoupal district police station and as a part of the “War against Drug” by the Moreh police station at its check post by a team of Moreh police and Commando, 50, 200 WY tablets and 11 grams of heroin powder were confiscated from an Alto car approaching towards Imphal from Moreh.

The individual who was driving the car had been arrested and a case under the NDPS Act was filed.
