MNPF calls for mutual support between hills and valley

IMPHAL: The proscribed Manipur Naga People Front (MNPF) has called upon the people of both the hills and valley to maintain peaceful co-existence and extend mutual support by exchanging essential commodities at such a crucial time of COVID-19 outbreak.

In a release, MNPF Secretary Publicity Thomas Numai said that the global outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 has seriously impacted upon the lives of the people. The virus has seriously gripped the people across the globe, by spreading fast among the people beyond religion, faith, rich and poor. To contain the virus spread, widespread lockdown have been imposed in different countries, causing joblessness, economic breakdown, starvation, anger, robbery, disturbance to public law and order and boredom etc, which is a more serious and horrible situation than  COVID-19. As done in other parts of the globe, the lockdown has been continuing in the state too for the last many days. The world has witnessed suicide cases, starvation to death during the lockdown. The state is also likely to see such horrible situation in the coming days. To avoid occurrence of such horrible incidents in the state, all the communities settled here need to extend mutual support by exchanging essential commodities and others, it appealed.

It called upon the people for a collective effort to protect the state from COVID-19.
