Imphal: Keeping in view the rising positive cases of Covid-19 second wave in the State and lending a helping hand to ease the intense difficulties caused by the pandemic, Langthabal A/C MLA Karam Shyam has opened a Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) at Standard Roberth Higher Secondary School, Chanchipur under Langthabal A/C on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons, MLA and former CAF&PD Minister
Karam Shyam divulged that altogether 106 people of the constituency
have been tested positive for Covid-19 and two infected people have died
of the virus while 11 out of the total 106 Covid positive infected
persons have been hospitalized.
He said that many people of the constituency infected with Covid-19 are facing difficulties in seeking treatment in hospitals due to overload of Covid patients and keeping this in mind, a CHIC will be opened at Standard Roberth Higher Secondary School, Chanchipur for Langthabal
He appealed to all the former MLAs and intending candidates from
the constituency to provide assistance in running the centre to tackle the pandemic setting aside political differences.
The MLA further said that efforts are being made to effectively run the centre and those who got experience can contact him to avail the
benefits in running the centre and a sum of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000 will
be provided from his pocket as financial assistance.
The MLA urged the people who will be staying at the centre to contact three persons namely Bankim (9612025227), Daneshwor (8258097452)
and Devan (7005701651) for any difficulties.
He also assured that he will continue distributing Covid-19 relief
items to facilitate families residing in containment zone areas of the
constituency and appreciated the former Medical Superintendent of
Medical Directorate for voluntarily assuring to extend help in running
ADM – Imphal West Nelson Yumnam, CMO Imphal West Dr. Th. Nandakishor and SDPO Singjamei Police Station Thingbaijam Luxmi and other imminent persons attended the occasion.
