Minister Nemcha Kipgen releases booklet on NCDC in state


Imphal: Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen released a booklet entitled “NCDC in Manipur” by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), New Delhi in a meeting held in the presence of Managing Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Sundeep Kumar Nayak,  Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Manipur, Robert Kshetrimayum and other officials of NCDC at NCDC Office, New Delhi.

Minister Nemcha stated that various schemes and programmes were discussed during the meeting. She expressed that through NCDC various programmes, Manipur will surely developed in terms of livelihood and enhancing the economy of the state i.e. effective cooperative movement will boost the state’s economy.

As highlighted by the Cooperation Minister which was discussed during the meeting, the first instalment for Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) Project will be released within this Financial year 2019-20, Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP) will soon be a reality in all the Districts of Manipur, Manipur Piggery Mission will be taken up for the whole state of Manipur. It will include setting up of Meat Processing Unit, Feed storage & Development, Farms, Feed Analytical Laboratory, Slaughter house, etc.

Nemcha further asserted that MoU will be signed between NCDC and Government of Manipur within this Financial Year 2019-20 which will bring a huge development in Cooperative Movement of Manipur by providing assistance to Piggery, Fishery, Handloom & Handicraft, Sericulture, Multipurpose Cooperatives, etc. The MoI (Memorandum of Intent) which was signed between Government of Manipur and Government of Bangladesh during the IICTF, 2019 will be promoted through Export Promotion Council for strengthening the Cooperative sector, she added.

Minister Nemcha Kipgen also informed that registration of 10 (ten) Farmer Producers’ Organisations (FPO) will be done comprising of 250 farmers each for the initial stage and bigger emphasis will be given to the Cooperative Societies engaged in Tourism activities in the state.

On a positive note, Nemcha called upon all to join hands to strengthened cooperative sectors for a developed state as well as country.
