Minister Nemcha Kipgen chairs review meet at Kangpokpi DHQs

KANGPOKPI: Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen, who is in-charge of Kangpokpi and Senapati District along with the Districts Nodal Officer, M. Harekrishna, IAS attended the review meet discussing modality to evolve Standard Operating Procedure in the various activities and measures carried out to combat the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and ensure smooth supply and transport of essential commodities to the people in the district.

Lalithambigai Kalidas, IAS, DC Kangpokpi, Hemant Pandey, IPS, SP Kangpokpi, Dr. J. Touthang, Chief Medical Officer, Kangpokpi along with AC to DC Kangpokpi, Kaigoulal Kipgen, MCS attended the review meet chaired by Minister Nemcha Kipgen at Conference Hall, DC office, Kangpokpi while Somorjit Salam, IAS, DC Senapati, M.Pradip Singh, IPS, SP Senapati and Dr. N. Dihe Mao, MS cum CMO Senapati also attended the review meeting.

The two district Minister in-charge, Nemcha Kipgen said that the various activities and measures carried out to combat the pandemic COVID-19 in both the district of Kangpokpi and Senapati and the steps taken to ensure smooth supply and transport of essential commodities to the people satisfactory.

“The preparedness of the two districts to fight the deadly COVID-19 is far so good”, said the Minister while adding that we need to be in tip top in every angle of our preparedness to contain the spread the highly contagious COVID-19 in the state.

She also said that while discussing the modality to evolve Standard Operating Procedure in various activities and efforts to combat the pandemic COVId-19 in both the districts, it has been decided that a Quarantine Centre shall be set up at Mao so as to quarantine if any stranded denizens of the state at the check post.

She continued that stamping for all home quarantine persons shall be made mandatory and stringent action shall be initiated to any violators of the home quarantine guidelines.

Night movement of goods vehicles shall be stop while the gate at Mao shall be open at 4:00 am in the morning and closed at 7:00 pm in the evening while modality of standard operating procedure to screen driver and handymen of the goods vehicles during time was also discussed, the Minister said.

She further said that one more check post shall be open at kangpokpi DHQs for double checking of the exempted vehicles while relief camp shall be open for migrant stranded people for providing food and shelters.
