Minister Nemcha continues to reach out to needy people

KANGPOKPI: As part of her forefront agenda to ensure food security to the people especially the genuinely needy people irrespective of community, religion, caste, creed, etc, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen reached out to the needy people of Twilang area in her Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency today.

However, the Minister due to emergency meeting at her office in the state capital, could not personally partake in the distribution of essential items to the genuinely needy people today at Kangpokpi DHQs, instead she has entrusted her workers to reached out to the needy people.

Altogether, almost 300 genuinely needy people including widow, widower, aged, differently able, etc.of Irang Part-I and Part-II including Makui, Chaljang and Wakotphai in Twilang area of Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency were distributed rice, dal and potato. The essential items were hand over through the village representatives at Kangpokpi DHQs.

Sixty one beneficiaries from eleven villages in Irang Part-I, one hundred thirty eight beneficiaries from seventeen villages in Irang Part-II and fifty eight beneficiaries from Makui, Chaljang and Wakotphai villages availed the benefits of Minister Nemcha Kipgen modest initiative of helping the genuinely needy people to ensure their food security during the pandemic.

The Minister had also reached out to the poor and needy people of various areas in her Constituency earlier with various essential items.

Man Kumar, a representative from Irang Part-II expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen for her modest initiative of helping the poor and genuinely needy people in Twilang area during the pandemic.

He said that people of Irang area are mostly living below poverty line and they have been enduring a hard times owing to the pandemic COVID-19 since the beginning of the nationwide lockdown as they could no longer earn for their livelihood.

He also pointed out that benefits under various Government programs were availed by the people, however, it was not enough for their survival.

“The modest intervention of the local MLA, Nemcha Kipgen, who is also the Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Govt. of Manipur immensely help the poor and needy people of her Constituency”, said Man Kumar while adding that people of Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency are fortunate to have such a humble and caring Minister.

He further said that people of Twilang area wishes her good health and peacefulness in her endeavours.
