Min. Biswajit chairs PWD Prog Advisory Committee 20-21 meet; Govt to use drones to monitor work sites

Imphal: Works Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh on Friday chaired the Programme Advisory Committee 2020-21 Meeting at the Conference Hall of his New Secretariat office.

During the meeting, the Minister said that this year the focus for work programme will be on unavoidable work and on priority basis. The department will also focus on clearing past liabilities and as such there will be lesser work programmes this year.

Members of the committee MLAs L. Radhakishore Singh, L. Rameshore Meitei, Md. Ashab Uddin, Md. Fajur Rahim, N. Indrajit, Y. Surchandra Singh also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, during the meeting the minister also expressed the need to procure drones and conduct aerial monitoring of work-sites as the department is facing shortage of man-power. He also instructed department officials including Chief Engineer Kh.Temba and Chief Engineer (Buildings) N.Noren to procure two hot mix plants for Ukhrul and Tamenglong districts.

The meeting was also attended by Commissioner (Works) RK. Dinesh and officials of Finance and Planning.
