IMPHAL: The Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturer’s Welfare Association (MGHSLWA) has held its executive meeting on Thursday during which many important resolutions concerning the problems and difficulties being faced by retired lecturers were passed.

A prominent resolution adopted during the executive meeting was to challenge the government order on the revision of pay dated December 28, 2006 which created the path for reduction of their pay from Rs. 7500 to Rs 6500. The meeting agreed that the finance department notification should be challenged at the High Court of Manipur within a short date and all senior higher secondary schools’ lecturers will convene a special meeting on November 14, 2020 at C.C. Higher Secondary School to take up necessary preparations for the legal fight that the association plans to undertake.

The meeting was attended by the executive members of the welfare association and principals, vice-principals, senior lecturers and retired lecturers. The meeting was chaired by the principal of Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, U. Kunjo.
