MESOCON conference on cancer held at RIMS Jubilee Hall

IMPHAL: the 10th Medical Society Conference on the theme, “Cancer- the challenge ahead’’ was organised and held by Medical Society, RIMS at the Jubilee Hall of Regional Institute of Medical Science campus on Saturday.

The main dignitaries of the event were Director of RIMS Prof. A Santa Singh as the Chief Guest, a former Head of Department for Surgery Prof. SN Prasad as the guest of honor and Medical Superintendent of RIMS Prof. Ch. Arunkumar presided over the function. They together inaugurated the event with candle lighting ceremony and with a session of releasing souvenir and journal of MESOCON 2020.

Prof. A Shanta Singh deliberated his speech by appreciating MESOCON on seeing the improvement on the quality of publication and further stated that since Medical Society was established in 1977 it has gained more popularity in competition and encouragement on medical research which is the most important component of medical institutes. He acclaimed that for medical research RIMS is one of the best medical institute among the state of north-east and as well as in Eastern zone.

He also advised Medical Society to organize more of research methodology for the young faculties and as well for junior and senior Resident.

He reminded all regarding Medical Council of Indian (MCI) on putting out guidelines recently that research methodology and publishing papers are mandatory for which it will reflect on their medical career and promotion line and also acclaimed that the institution is in far ahead as of now and must put more efforts to compete within the ranking of the entire top medical institution in the country,

Prof. Ch. Arunkumar that Medical Society of RIMS is an essential and integral organization.

 It is a platform for conducting scientific activities of all teaching staffs of the institution in terms of presenting their research paper and also it gives an opportunity to interact with faculty members within and of various other medical institutions. The purpose of the Society is to serve the humanity by endeavoring to achieve the highest rating in medical education, science, equipments and health care.

He complimented that with all the efforts and support of all the related staffs, RIMS is now placed proudly at 28th rank all over the country. He said that MESOCON 2020 will definitely enhance knowledge and provide real opportunities for all the members in this professional association to openly discuss about present challenges of medical society, he further said.

Organizing chairperson of the event said that the society has claimed as a Medical Society in 1983 and since MESOCON have always been a platform of reuniting all those olden days associated members of the Society. The motto of the Society is to promote, pertain and propagate all scientific knowledge that has gathered and to progress further. He requested all the faculty members to contribute more on impact factors included in parts of the society and also colleagues from outside the state for more article.

He wished the conference a grand success and hoped it will benefit to all the medical society.
