IMPHAL: The newly established “Medicine Help Service” desk has so far helped 19 individuals whose drugs are not available in their local pharmacies and 16 of them were given names and locations of pharmacies where these drugs are available, informed COVID-19 Common Control Room.
In a statement, Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional director & Spokesperson Health department stated that the state government is putting all efforts to help people in need. Due to the lockdown many patients could not get prescription drugs. In partial fulfillment of this effort, the newly established “Medicine Help Service” desk provided help to the patients.
The state has new positive case of COVID-19 as eight samples tested at VRDL, JNIMS came out negative on Friday. A cumulative total of 311 samples including the eight samples submitted on Friday have been tested. Till date only two are COVlD-19 positive and one of them is already cured. The positivity rate is 0.64 percent. This is an indication that there is no community transmission in the state, it added.
According to another status report updated by State Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Manipur, altogether, 6458 persons are currently under Home Quarantine and Government Quarantine facilities. Of this, 6317 persons are returnees from outside the state, 15 from foreign countries. On Friday, 22 persons who newly entered the state from outside the state were kept under Home quarantine while 9 at Government quarantine facilities.
2215 persons who were kept under Home Quarantine and Government Quarantine have completed their quarantine period.
325 persons who entered the state via Mao gate and 122 via Jiribam gate, bordering with Assam were screened on Friday. No persons entered the state through Moreh, Behiang, Sinzawl, Tusom and Kamjong on the day, said the report.
Altogether 1,91,809 persons who entered the state through different entry points including Imphal airport have been screened so far.
