IMPHAL: Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights has directed all the private schools to exempt students from fees for the period of the current COVID-19 lockdown.
Sumatibala Ningthoujam, Chairperson, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued a public notice in this regard on Monday.
The Commission also asked the vehicle (bus/vans etc.,) transporting school children not to charge monthly fares from parents/guardian during the lockdown period.
“During this stressful juncture, no child should be harassed/neglected/discriminated due to any non-agreement or conflict between parents/guardians and school or other educational institution and vehicle owners catering to children till the age of 18 years due to non-payment of school fees and transportation fees. These steps are essential keeping in view the best interest of the child” the notice said.
