Markets and Oil Stations in Thoubal District Open

Thoubal: Apart from Lilong, other major markets and business establishments and oil stations in Thoubal District remained opened during the relaxation in lockdown and curfew in the state from 6 am to 10 am and many people came out to buy essential commodities.

During a briefing at the office chamber of DC Thoubal, DC Nongmaithem Bandana said that the lockdown and curfew have been imposed in Lilong area as medical teams are currently conducting surveillance for further suspected Covid-19 infected persons after one person has been tested positive and the areas about 3 km in radius from the patient residence has been sealed.

On the other hand, out of 21 persons who were kept at the quarantine centre at Darul Uloom Madrassa in Lilong seven have been discharged.

14 persons including 11 family members and 3 co-passengers of Covid-19 positive Abdul Rahaman, who is undergoing treatment at RIMS, are still being kept at the quarantine centre at Darul Uloom Madrassa in Lilong.

Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary Darul Uloom Madrassa, Lilong Haji Meihijuddin said that some of the persons who are currently kept at the Madrassa has reached 31 days of quarantine, however, they are still at the Madrassa after being told to stay further.

He said, the quarantine persons are not being treated by keeping doctors at the Madrassa, they quarantine style is similar to being put in a police lock-up and if they are ought to stay at the centre, Haji Meihijuddin draws the attention of the concern to take up some initiatives for the very quarantine persons at the centre.

On the other hand, out of 882 home quarantine persons in the district, 110 persons have completed their quarantine days, while around 742 persons are still undergoing home quarantine at their respective houses.

The first test results of all these persons have turn out negative and they are currently being monitored strictly by Integrated Disease Surveillance Team of Thoubal District.
