IMPHAL: Manipur shone at the recently held IAWA Mrs India 2020 winning nine titles namely, 2nd and 3rd Runners Up of main title, Mrs Creative, Mrs Catwalk, Mrs Congeniality, 1st Runner Up IAWA Miss Quarantine 2020, IAWA Quarantine Queen 2020, 1st runners up of IAWA Mrs India 2020 and Mrs Gorgeous subtitle.
Due to the lockdown and pandemic which has hit the country, the IAWA Mrs India 2020 was held virtually, the first of such pageant in the world with the grand finale held on August 2 virtually. SOP of COVID-19 was strictly observed, the organisers said.
Among the participants, Chongtham Binita Sapam won the IAWA Mrs Creative 2020. She is the wife of Pramod Sapam of Wabagai Awang Leikai. She is a fitness trainer blessed with a 6-yeal old son .
Aikhom Babycha Achumi won three titles, namely 3rd Runners Up Mrs IAWA India 2020; 1st Runners Up IAWA Quarantine Queen 2020 and IAWA Mrs Catwalk 2020.
She is the wife of Yaikhom NirajKumar of Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai, a businessman. The couple is blessed with an 8-year old daughter Jasleen.
And the third person to bring glory to Manipur at the event is Jenbina Rangnamei who won 2nd Runners Up Mrs IAWA India 2020 and IAWA Mrs Congeniality 2020.
She is from Chowainamei Khunou village, Senapati District and married to Simon Chalai. They are blessed with a son and a daughter.
Maya Kuki was crowned as the prestigious IAWA Quarantine Queen 2020 besides winning first runners up the title of IAWA Mrs India 2020 and Mrs Gorgeous subtitle.
She the wife of Agrippa Kakai Mate of Tengnoupal District and a mother of three. She is presently residing in Ranchi as an agricultural scientist under ICAR, Govt of India.
Over 600 women from across India had contested for this pageant. Sixteen finalists were shortlisted and the contest was held online due to Covid-19. Different tasks with deadlines were given to participants along with a grooming session from July 20 to August 2.
Contestants were trained not like a typical pageant contestant, instead, they were trained to become women’s rights champions and savvy career women with 13 days online grooming in various sectors. A total of 600 entries were received online from several parts of India and after through selection process, 20 women got selected for finale. The finale event was held on August 2 digitally live on Facebook. The event was judged by Mubarkka Lokhandwala, social activist and multitasking queen; Pankaj Raina, actor/singer and Harjeet Anand, Governor Aid Rotary Club.
This pandemic has led everyone to connect with each other via internet and the whole world is moving towards virtual Space. So with these ideas Amarcine conducted their beauty pageant IAWA MRS INDIA 2020 with Quarantine Queen 2020 successfully online virtually, the organisers said. While most of the beauty pageants have got cancelled this year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. IAWA India Beauty Pageant is a dynamic platform for both which encompasses an incredible voyage and gets to experience a pageant never like before, they said.

The motive behind the PAN India beauty pageant 2020 is to spread the message -prevention is better than cure for breast cancer and cervical cancer, it stated.
