Manipur Police continues drive against vehicles with tinted glass

Imphal: As part of the strict drive taken up to avoid and control the happening of unwanted crime in the state, Manipur Police is continuing to strengthen drive against vehicles with tinted glass.

On Saturday, Imphal West district Police detained 465 vehicles with tinted glasses from different areas of the Imphal West district.

The detained vehicles were later released after removal of the tinted films and the owners and drivers of the detained vehicles were given strict instruction on not to use tinted glasses and films in the future again.

Likewise, Thoubal District Police also detained 38 four wheelers vehicles with tinted glasses and films and collected a total fine of Rs. 21,950 including for violation of other traffic rules and for not wearing masks.

On the other hand, joint team of Churachandpur Police and Traffic Control Police, Churchandpur also detained 21 four wheelers vehicles with tinted glasses and films.

With removal of the tinted films, the detained vehicles were imposed fine of Rs. 3500 under Motor Vehicles Act.

Surprisingly, the same joint team of Churachandpur led by Additional SP (Ops)/Churachandpur Lawrence K. Munluo under the overall supervision of SP/Churachandpur Amrita Sinha seized a total of 700 litres of DIC Liquor from one such vehicle which was detained with tinted glasses.

The seized DIC Liquor was later disposed off in the presence of Women groups against Drugs & Alcohol, local press media and representatives from the Excise Department.

Churachandpur Police and Traffic Control Police, Churchandpur have been enforcing strict action against vehicles with illegal tinted glasses and will continue to conduct such drives in order to prevent crimes and anti-social activities in the district, said Churachandpur Police.
