Man Entry points by Doctors for screening, MLA Ranjit urges Govt

IMPHAL: Expressing serious concern over the media report about conducting screening of visitors at Jiribam gate for possible exposure to Coronavirus by only two male health workers professional Doctors, opposition MLA K Ranjit has urged the government to man the entry points of the state by the experienced doctors, instead of the male or female health workers.

Raising the issue in the Zero hour of the house, the MLA said that following the outbreak of Coronavirus from Wuhan city, China, state government has deployed medical staffs at different entry points of the state including Imphal airport to screen visitors for possible exposure to the deadly virus.

The MLA while citing a media report said that two male Health workers are conducting screening of the visitors at Jiribam Entry point as the concerned doctors have been absent for days. Such negligence on the part of the doctors is very unfortunate at a time when the deadly virus has triggered global alarm uncertainty and panic.

The MLA urged the government to man the entry points by the doctors for smooth screening of the visitors.
