Imphal: Luwang Thang-Ta Academy Khurai Kongpal were declared the overall team champion of the 14th Imphal East District Thang-Ta Competition 2020.
The competition was held at Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai Community Hall, organized by Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Khurai Kongpal which was participated by 148 players from 10 units of Boys and Girls including 26 officials.
Luwang Thang-Ta Academy Khurai Kongpal secured 120 points with 34 medals of 14 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze medal while Indigenous Culture & Sports Academy of KIMACS clinched runner up team getting 64 points along with 19 medals including 5 gold, 11 silver and 3 bronze medal.
On the last day of the competition of Junior Boys Phunaba Ama & Anishuba at -44 Kg, Th. Kash of MATAM and A. Jogendra of ICASA of KIMACS bagged gold and silver medal respectively.
At -52 kg, gold medal award went to Biyash of Kangleipak Thang-Ta and S. Sushil of ICASA of KIMACS clinched silver medal.
In the -56 kg event, Kh. Loyangamba of Langol Lukhoi Thang-Ta, M. Tuljit of LTTA and L. Trace of ICASA of KIMACS were respectively won gold, silver and bronze medal.
N. Jesky of LTTA secured gold medal at -60 Kg category. KTAA’s M. Arbin found gold medal at -64 kg. Ksh. Bishworjit of Kanglasha and L. Thomson of ICASA of KIMACS collected silver.
A. Biju and Th. Josh of MATAM won gold and silver medal and W. Ranjit seured bronze medal at Senior Men Phunaba Ama & Anishuba of -62 kg.
Kh. Nanao of ICASA of KIMACS won gold medal at -54 kg.
At -66 Kg, N. Maigei Mangang of Kangleipak Thang-Ta bagged gold and W. Brojen of Kanglasha got silver.
In Senior Women Phunaba Ama & and Anishuba -50 Kg, N. Jibanlata of LTTA secured gold medal.
In Sub-Junior Girls Thang-Haiba event, W. Hiyaileima of Mangang Luwang Khuman Thang-Ta Sindamshang collected gold medal while N. Lingjenthoibi of ICASA of KIMACS got silver and Ksh. Payal of Eastern Kala Vidya Thang-Ta Association bagged bronze medal.
