Modi government electrocuted the budget of the common man: O. Nabakishore
IMPHAL: Regarding the recent price hike and increased in the prices of non-subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or cooking gas cylinders by up to Rupees 149 per cylinder, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee condemned the present BJP led Government for burning a hole in common’s man pocket.
Spokesperson of MPCC Dr. O. Nabakishore while addressing media persons at Congress Bhavan condemned the fact that non-subsidized LPG cylinder is now priced at Rs 858.5 in New Delhi, a sharp hike of Rs 144.5 and in Mumbai by Rs 145 to Rs 829.5.
Although subsidized amount is transfer and return into bank accounts, it adversely affects those Ujjwala beneficiaries on paying the full amount up run of more than Rs 850 per cylinder.
Criticizing the decision of the government he said that such move will affect every poor and hard-working people which are already facing severe inflation.
The congress party in the state strongly condemned such steps as an injustice toward the people.
According to the report from the National Statistical Office the rate of inflation is 7.59% for the month of January 2019 which is highest in the last six years marked by constant increase in consumer price index and inflation rate in the country, he added.
The women’s wing of Congress party carried out a protest accusing Modi government over the steep price rise of LPG cylinder which electrocuted the budget of the common man and also hitting the pocket of the public through the sharp hike on LPG and demanded its immediate rollback.
