Imphal: With the Covid-19 lockdown 3.0 imposed in the country, State Police still continued to crack down on curfew and lock down violators, and people who are not wearing face mask in public and not maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press note stated that a sum of Rs. 93,450 was collected as fine from around 908 curfew and lockdown violators and 736 vehicles were detained during a drive conducted on Wednesday.
ADGP (LO) in the press note has warned those who violate the curfew and lockdown will be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The detained violators, vehicles and fines were collected from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Thoubal, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul District Police Stations during the drive carried out on Wednesday.
On the other hand, according to police report, the cumulative fine imposed has reached Rs. 32,41,130 from 32,125 lockdown and curfew violators and 24,450 vehicles have been detained in Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel, Bishnupur, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur, Senapati, Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Noney and Jiribam District Police Stations till Wednesday.
