Imphal: On the second day of Covid-19 lockdown 3.0 imposed in the country and State, State Police still continued to crack down on curfew and lock down violators, as well people not wearing face mask in public and not maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press note stated that around 589 curfew and lockdown violators along with 626 vehicles were detained during a drive conducted on Tuesday.
The detained violators were imposed fined of Rs. 93,150.
ADGP (LO) in the press note has warned those who violated the curfew and lockdown will be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The detained violators, vehicles and fines were collected from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul District Police Station during the drive carried out on Tuesday, respectively.
