Local boy aspiring to be army officer felicitated

IMPHAL: The troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Indian Army felicitated a bright local boy resident of Chairel Thoubal Tabi in Bishnupur District of Manipur on Friday.

The boy Master Bobo Singh had secured third position in the recently held HSLC examination and aspires to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla to become an Army officer. The nearest camp of Assam Rifles acknowledging the boy’s feat, resolved to extend guidance to the boy, promised him of provision of all assistance including the expenditure incurred over his studies until he clears the NDA examination, PIB (Defence Wing) informed in a press note. Assam Rifles as Friends of the Hill People remains in the forefront in extending its support in realisation of dreams of youth in the region. 

The felicitation ceremony was organised at the residence of the boy in his native village. The proud family was also present during the ceremony and were overwhelmed by the benevolent initiative of Assam Rifles.
