IMPHAL: Under the initiative of All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) Head Quarter comprising both the Imphal east and Imphal west branches a successfully raid seized liquor worth Rs. 1.50 lakhs from two individuals at Thangmeiband Moji Khul on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons, External Affairs of AMSU HQ Yambem Pauljit said that the drive has been conducted after reliable information was received that a huge liquor business is going on in some areas of Imphal east and Imphal west districts. During that drive, the two AMSU HQ branches Imphal west and Imphal east seized a huge amount of liquors worth Rs. 1.50 lakhs at Thangmeiband Moji Khul while they were moving towards Kangpokpi district by two individuals. The two individuals have been identified as Prem Tamang and Raj Tamang.
He appealed to the state government and other authorities concerned to arrest those persons involved in such business undertaking amid this critical situation of Covid-19 pandemic and to punish them as per law of the land. He said that reliable information has been received that such same activities were taking place in some areas of Thangmeiband, so he further appealed to the state government and others to look into the matter and investigate how far the information is accurate.
