KYU embarks on sanitizing liquor vendors at Kpi DHQs

KANGPOKPI: Considering the impact of gathering crowd against the Government SOPs in connection with complete lockdown in the town, Kangpokpi Youth Union begin sanitizing liquor vendors in the town.

Conducting a liqour drive in downtown Kangpokpi, the youth union seized 18 beer cans on Tuesday and destroyed in public in the presence of Kangpokpi police and Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization.

The union also seized another DIC liqour Wednesday morning and destroyed in public in the presence of Kangpokpi police.

Speaking to media person, Haolet Khongsai, President KYU said that when the town is under complete lockdown but that liquor vendors in downtown Kangpokpi always remain crowded since afternoon posing high risk to the people apart from contradicting the provided Government guidelines and protocols.

He also said that they have summoned all the liqour vendors and instructed them to closed down their respective vendors and anyone found violating the instruction shall be fine with befitting action.

He further said that Kangpokpi DHQs is in alarming situation of community transmission and we cannot let any unfortunate thing happen owing to carelessness and negligence on the part of the Liqour vendors.

He also appeal the people of Kangpokpi town to strictly follow the Government SOPs for the safety of the town and the people while cautioning that in case of emergency, everyone must wear masks and maintain social distancing.
