Kumbi College Students’ Union conducted cleanliness drive

Bishnupur: A cleanliness drive organised by Kumbi College Students’ Union was conducted on Friday from Kumbi Thongjao to Kumbi PHC, about 2km of Wangoo road stretch of Kumbi Assembly Constituency.

General Secretary of the Students’ Union Biken Ningthoujam, Finance Secretary Poireinganba Nongmaithem, Social and Cultural Secretary Babycha Wahengbam, Games and Sports Secretary Anand Amom, Debate and Extension Secretary DK Wahengbam, Magazine Secretary Ronaldo Loitongbam, Boys Common Room Secretary Suraj Asem, Girls Common Room Secretary Phephe Loitongbam and students of the college took part in the cleanliness drive.

Speaking on the sideline of the cleanliness drive, General Secretary of the Students’ Union Biken Ningthoujam said that the mud left by the tractors during harvesting season along the Kumbi Thongjao to Kumbi Terakhong PHC road stretch make the road dirty, causes pollution from the dust, and if rainy season comes there is high chances of road accident as the road will be slippery from the liquid mud.

Biken Ningthoujam further said that with the state facing Covid-19 crisis, there are high chances of causing high fever or cold fever from the dust, thus the Union conducted the cleanliness drive to keep the surrounding areas neat and clean.
