KANGPOKPI: The Kuki Students’ Organization General Headquarters (KSO-HQs) has made a clear statement on its stand in connection with any election related activities that it cannot support any particular candidate or involve in any election related activities.
In connection with doubts raised recently over the active participation of some leaders of KSO involved in campaigning in the ongoing by-election, 2020, Thanglenmang Simte, General Secretary, KSO General Headquarters clarified to the general public that as per KSO Constitution, no leaders of KSO shall take part in election campaigning, assist in anyway a particular candidate, or indulge in any act subversive to KSO Constitution.
He continued that such involvement, if any, may best be treated as an act of personal or self intend should not be construed as KSO participation.
“KSO cannot support any particular candidate or involve itself in Saitu AC by election”, he said and added that any KSO leader who wish to join or take part in the ongoing by-election campaign may do so in his own personal accord but KSO would not be tenable for such act.
He also said that KSO will not shoulder any responsibility for the consequences that may result out of such leader decisions and actions.
It should be known to one and all that the KSO does not favour nor support any particular party or candidate in the ongoing by-election but at the same time wishes all the candidate the best in their endeavors, he added.
