KSO Kamjong, KGYA express gratitude

KANGPOKPI: The Kuki Students’ Organisation, Kamjong District has expressed gratitude to Mathanmi Hungyo, Director, Recognise Rise and Empower Association (RREA) and his COVID-19 Relief team for rendering a yeomen service by providing essential items to the people of some selected villages in Kamjong District without any differentiation between communities at their doorstep.

It said that the pandemic COVID-19 had brought escalating hardship to Kamjong District where jhumming is the main livelihood of the people and villagers live with their daily earning which could not be continued due to lockdown.

We are deeply happy upon the Recognise Rise and Empower Association (RREA) which is a non-profit organisation but works for the welfare of all communities in the District and abroad, it added.

It continued that one can see a sigh of relief and comfort when the relief materials of RREA were distributed to the villagers while they thanked RREA for taking up a good initiative to cope the hardship face by the people.

Meanwhile, Kalapahar Gorkha Youth Association (KGYA) thanked Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen for her exemplary roles in ensuring nobody goes hungry during the nationwide lockdown owing to the pandemic COVID-19 especially in Kalapahar areas.

Suraj Bhandari, President KGYA said that apart from the card holders who have availed 5 Kg.of rice per head in the family under PMGKAY, all non-card holders in Kalapahar, Chandraman, Mukuli and Kharkhola also availed  5 Kg.of rice per head in the family through OMSS rice procured under the local MLA Development Funds.

He also said that the villagers of all these villages were extremely happy over the yeomen service of the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen  who is also the Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen and in-charge Minister of Kangpokpi and Senapati in connection with the pandemic COVID-19.

He continued that the personal intervention of the Minister during the distribution of rice by visiting the distribution centres and ensuring proper distribution rice is highly appreciated while adding that we are happy to have such generous and honest leader like her who could feel us her presence during such critical times by providing essential items and other requirements.
