KSO, Ccpur expresses concerns on admission process of JNV Tuinom

TMB Report

Ccpur: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur has asserted that it was astounded at the admission process of JNV Tuinom.

“We are all aware that the admission of class VI and Class IX in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Admissions in JNVs are made through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya selection test (JNVST). As per the guidelines, only the candidates hailing from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located are eligible to apply for admission. The children selected on the basis of the test will be admitted only in the JNV located in the district from where they are studying in,” the students’ group pointed out.

However, according to KSO, Churachandpur it has been observed that many students from outside the district are getting admission in JNV Churachandpur every year from the district quota/share, violating all norms and guidelines laid down for admission.

Although, the Govt. of India established one JNV in each district, JNV Churachandpur becomes safe haven for every district in Manipur. Some Principals/Headmasters are issuing false certificates declaring that the candidate is presently studying in his/her school. Besides this some false domicile certificates are issued by some government offices in the district, the KSO claimed.

To protect and safeguard the interest of the district, the KSO requested the district administration and concern authorities to take up this issue as top priority and keep vigil on JNVST. To detect the foul play, verification of documents should be conducted strictly by the concern authorities after declaration of the result, as the registration of candidate are done through online mode and that verification will be difficult before the declaration of the result. All relevant documents of selected candidate/ parents must be verified with their Aadhaar card and residential proof issued by their concern village Chief/ Village Authorities, it declared.

In case of any foul play, the admission of the successful candidates should be cancelled and an exemplary punishment should be given to those persons who issue false education and residential certificates, the organization added.

The KSO Churachandpur stated that it is not against any community or any tribe. Our target is to ensure that the people of Churachandpur should get their due share in JNVST irrespective of any community or tribes and to ensure that the verification process is conducted fairly the union would involve itself in the process, it explained.
