KANGPOKPI: Despite continuous appeals and unceasing dissemination of the importance of wearing mask, some people are still seen loitering around without mask at Kangpokpi DHQs.
Kangpokpi Youth Union and the local senior Journalist Kaybie Chongloi had also initiated ‘Mask Kangpokpi’ with an aim to educate the people about the importance of wearing mask at public places and distributed as many as more than 700 mask till now.
Apart from many other like-minded individuals and well wishers, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen had also donated huge quantity of Renu Handloom and Handicraft Co-operative Society Limited Mask to the campaign.
The District police also helped in promoting the ‘Mask Kangpokpi’ campaign in all possible ways.
However, there are still few people who failed to listen to the importance call wearing face mask at public places.
Therefore, Kangpokpi Police led by Addl. SP (Ops) Lalminlen Misao and ASI Hemminlun detained people coming out without wearing mask at public places and make them do 50 round of push up in an open area.
Women violators were strictly warn not to ventured out without wearing mask at any circumstances.
All violators were also provided cotton face mask by the police team.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi Youth Union decided to distributed more mask within few days and also decided to take stringent action to those violators.
