KIMACS to observe one month Thang-Ta day

Imphal: Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts & Cultural Society (KIMACS) will observe one month Thang-Ta day from 15th October to 15th November 2020.

In relation with this observation a press conference was held at the premises of KMACS Head Office, Palace Compound wherein I. Ibomcha, Chairman Thang-Ta Observation Committee said that Thang-Ta is one of the best and is a well-disciplined game in the world and have been organizing Thang-Ta day since long time. The education of Thang-Ta should be learned by every community to make a nice society for future world and it has many disciplines like human character, behavior and attitudes, Ibomcha added.

KIMACS had demanded the current government to appoint Thang-Ta teachers to teach the education of Thang-Ta to schools, colleges. Instead of listening KIMACS request, this government has arrested many volunteers of KIMACS and, later on, government had released the volunteers, Ibomcha stated.

From that KIMACS decided to perform Thang-Ta day. On the other hand, the titular King of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba had announced the 15th November will be the Thang-Ta Day every year on the beginning day of the Inter School Thang-Ta Championship 2019 held at Khuman Lampak, Sports Complex, Ibomcha added.

He continued that KIMACS will do social service, blood donation and others physical activities from 15th October of this month till 15th November 2020 in relation with this Thang-Ta Day. And he appealed to all the people of Manipur, School, Colleges and frontier organizations to support the activities of the KIMACS to bring peace and unity.
