KANGPOKPI: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), an apex body of the Kuki Tribes has extended its warmest greeting, KUT CHIBA to all the Chin-Kuki-Mizo ethnic brethren on the occasion of the post harvest biggest festival.
Khaimang Chongloi, President KIM said that it is very unfortunate that the main function for this year Kut 2020 would not be conducted as was announced by State Level Kut Committee due to the dreaded Covid 19 Pandemic.
He said that the advent of this auspicious occasion, reminds us of the glorious days of our forefathers, when they in one accord live peacefully and independently while adding that we have not forgotten the heroic sacrifices they made against the mighty British invaders who attempted to annex/conquer their ancestral land and freedom during the 1917-1919.
The Kuki Inpi Manipur once again call upon all the different communities of the state to shed all differences and work cohesively for the peaceful co-existence and prosperous future Manipur, he said and added that taking the opportunity of this auspicious occasion, we the Kukis once again re-dedicate and reiterate our stand for “non-communal’ ‘peaceful co-existence’ and ‘justice for all”.
The Kuki Inpi Manipur also conveys our best wishes to all the Kutters. May the celebration of this year Kut in different parts of the world usher in peace, reconciliation and unification for the Chin-Kuki-Mizo communities and peaceful co-existence among the different communities of the state as a whole, he added.
