Kangpokpi police helps shoppers, enforces social distancing, curfew more effective

KANGPOKPI: Kangpokpi police helped shoppers during the second day break during lockdown in the town today apart from enforcing guidelines of lockdown more effectively while maintaining social distancing.

The newly posted Kangpokpi Police Station Officer-in-charge, Inspector Khogen was seen carrying bags of potatoes helping the shoppers so as to avoid crowding in the market areas this morning during day break for shopping.

The exemplary and good samaritan Inspector saw few individual while on duty carrying goods from a shop which was likely to create crowding, so he without hesitation immediately lend a helping hand by personally carrying the goods and help them drop till the vehicle so as to avoid crowding.

He also disseminated information of the Dos and Don’ts in the regard to COVID-19 among the people and the necessity to follow the guidelines of social distancing during the day break for shopping  by the shoppers while abide by the Curfew rules.

The ADC Sadar Hills, District Administration, Kangpokpi police and the local bodies in joint review meeting resolved to open Monday, Wednesday and Friday as shopping day during the lockdown as agreed earlier so that people can buy essential items.

Kangpokpi police and the local Youth and women were entrusted to monitored smooth flow of public shopping with strict social distancing.

Apart from monitoring the public during the day break, Kangpokpi police also ensure movement of traffic flow along the Highway.

Supervised by SP Kangpokpi Hemant Pandey, IPS and Coordinated by Addl.SP(Ops), Lalminlen Misao, MPS, the police team were led by OC Kangpokpi, Inspector Khogen ij maintaining the traffic flow while also monitoring the unnecessary movement of vehicles breaking the Curfew.

Many violators were taken to Kangpokpi police station who without any valid reason loiter around and make unnecessary crowding.

According to Kangpokpi police, from the next day break for shopping and on the other days of lockdown, it will start to siege vehicle keys who are plying without any valid reason against the curfew.
